A December Selection by Agnes

December by Agnes

The days are getting shorter, and the candles are coming out again. Some pieces belong to this season more than any other. For December, Agnes brought together a selection for the table and the tree.

On the Table

Kurt Jesch’s candelabra for Amadeo grow from a single stem into curling arms, one with four candles and one with seven. Beside them stand serpentine brass candleholders from Illums Bolighus in Denmark, each drawn in one continuous loop. Timo Sarpaneva’s Arkipelago candleholders for Iittala add clear, heavy glass, in square and hourglass shapes, with air bubbles caught inside. Mixed together, they set a table that glows from every height.

In the tree

The gold moves up into the tree. Georg Jensen’s candleholders hold a single candle on a spiral fitting, each finished with a small motif: a heart, a sprig of mistletoe, a dove, a star. Holmegaard’s golden candleholder balls, designed by Jette Frölich and Torben Jørgensen, hang from a branch or in a window, a tealight glowing inside the gold bands. Every piece is available now, and several come in pairs.

It is the time of year when small objects matter most
